Vendors

This section allows you to define vendors (e.g., Cisco, Arista) and associate Device Families with them.

Usage

Vendors are necessary in the following cases:

• Devices added via ZTP (Zero Touch Provisioning) or Static (manual pre-configuration addition).
• NOS Images management: the complete Vendor > Family > Model chain is necessary to associate a system image with a device model.

Devices discovered via Autodiscovery do not require prior vendor definition.

Managing vendors and families

Inline Management: You can manage the association of Device Families directly from this view.

• The Device Family column displays all families currently linked to the vendor.
• By clicking the icon, you can use the multi-select dropdown to add or remove families (e.g., adding Cisco Nexus to the Cisco vendor).
