Display settings
Customize the map display to highlight specific network information.
General options¶
Unmerge all¶
Enables or disables splitting all multi-port connections into individual physical links. The port label is displayed on each physical link.
You can also split or group links individually by right-clicking on a link (see Operations & Services).
Bandwidth¶
Enables bandwidth display on map links.
Link color by media type¶
When enabled, links are colored according to the detected media type (fiber, copper, etc.).
Info
If the media type is not detected on one side of the link (e.g., on some Aruba CX devices), Avalon automatically uses the information from the other side.
VLAN Display¶
Roadmap
Future updates will add support for other data such as:
- IP Addresses / VRF
- Spanning Tree Protocol
- Routing protocols
Configuration parameters¶
The list displays all VLANs discovered on the site, including their ID and Name.
- Selection: Select a radio button to activate the display for that VLAN. In version 1.3.6, mars 2026, only one VLAN can be displayed.
- None: Select this option to return to the standard view.
Results¶
Once a VLAN is selected, the topology map updates in real-time to reflect the configuration status.
Visual indicators:
- Badge: A blue badge containing the VLAN name (e.g.,
USER_1) appears on top of a device icon if that VLAN is globally configured on the equipment. - Link Coloring:
- Blue Link: The connection is colored blue if the VLAN is symmetrically configured and propagated on both sides of the link (e.g., allowed on the Trunk ports at both ends).
- Gray/Dotted Link: The link remains in its default state if the VLAN is not present or if the configuration is incomplete/asymmetric.
Actions¶
- Close: Closes the modal and applies the selected display option on the map.
